Erin.Angels: Support for Grieving Children was birthed out of sadness and pain I saw in my own home. My name is Octavia Tokley and I am a proud mother of a beautiful daughter named Amethyst. In March of 2021, I lost my husband to COVID-19. I saw the hurt and pain in our children, but especially in our youngest.
I was an educator in the Philadelphia School District for over 20 years and now and educator in the William Penn School District. I have primarily worked with younger students, but now work with staff and students in grades K-12. I want to combine my passion for working with youth with the need I see in my children and so many other children.
My husband's name was Erin and the period (Dot) represents my mother that I lost in 2000 when I was just 20 years old. My two angels will continue to watch over me and everyone that gives or receives support from Erin.Angels. We look forward to connecting with you!

What is Erin.Angels: Support for Grieving Children?
This grief support group was created in a time of sorrow. I saw my own daughter struggling to cope with the sudden loss of her father. Children are resilient but deserve a space and opportunity to know they are not the only ones experiencing similar feelings.
Erin.Angels is support for children to acknowledge their feelings while remembering their loved ones. Children will be encouraged to participate in various ways to give them the support they need to cope with significant loss in their lives.

Our summer break is ending! Next session will begin Tuesday, September 10, 2024!
We meet on Zoom twice a month for one hour. We read books, discuss our feelings, remember our loved ones, and get to meet new people with similar experiences.
